The two markets Chatterbox is targeted towards are public ISPs and large enterprises. Here are examples of both types of customer:

Clix, a subsidiary of France Telecom, is the largest ISP in Portugal. After deploying an XMPP-based public IM system with a specially developed Windows client, they decided to merge their popular Web-chat community onto the same server. ClientSide expanded the text-conferencing features of Chatterbox to provide a state-of-the-art public Web-chat client. Clix have recently decided to expand the role of Chatterbox. It is now also their preferred IM client.

Headquartered in Luxembourg, Arcelor is the world’s largest steel producing group. Their central office cannot control every PC and firewall that people will use to access their IM service worldwide. So they asked us to closely integrate Chatterbox into their existing extranet Web portal. This flexibility and the fact that Chatterbox requires no installation were important factors for them. ClientSide extended Chatterbox with an innovative firewall tunneling solution. This ensured that Arcelor’s users could use the service from behind firewalls without consuming excessive bandwidth or the associated server-side SSL processing.
